
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Mr. Mohamed Amr Sayed Shaker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sehetna Foundation for Development, have signed a cooperation protocol to equip an adult intensive care unit at Al-Mowasat University Hospital. The unit will include eight fully equipped ICU beds and an isolation room, at a total cost exceeding 13 million EGP.
Dr. Konsowa affirmed that the protocol supports the university’s plan to modernize its medical services, particularly in critical care specialties. He pointed out that Al-Mowasat Hospital is considered the largest center for liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplantation, as well as dialysis services across four governorates. He added that the new unit will be equipped in accordance with the highest technical standards.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Amr Sayed Shaker expressed the foundation’s pride in its partnership with Alexandria University, stressing its commitment to supporting university hospitals and providing medical equipment and qualified personnel to serve patients.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, Dr. Ahmed Sherin, Director of Al-Mowasat University Hospital, along with several representatives of the foundation.
