As part of Alexandria University’s strategy to internationalize education and strengthen academic collaboration with prestigious global universities, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, received Dr. Dina Rashid, Assistant Dean of the University of Chicago for Academic Affairs, to discuss ways of developing academic cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Afaf El-Oufi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Shereen Nasir, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science; Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Gehan Gouyfel, Assistant to the President for Education Internationalization and International Branches.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim welcomed the delegation and affirmed the university’s keenness to expand avenues of collaboration with leading American universities across various academic and scientific disciplines. He highlighted the long-standing relations between Alexandria University and the University of Chicago, particularly in the fields of economics and political science, noting that the university adopts a clear strategy to establish joint and dual academic programs with highly ranked global universities. This, he emphasized, contributes to delivering high-quality education and preparing graduates capable of competing in local, regional, and international labor markets.

For her part, Dr. Dina Rashid praised the distinguished level of Alexandria University’s students and graduates, affirming the University of Chicago’s commitment to strengthening academic cooperation with Alexandria University through the development and implementation of joint research projects in various scientific disciplines and increasing student exchanges within the exchange program with the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science.
