In the framework of Alexandria University's celebrations of the anniversary of the Glorious October War victories, Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, today, Wednesday, attended the educational seminar organized by the university under the title “The Battle of Consciousness… Our Youth is Our Responsibility.” The seminar was presented by Major General Dr. Sameer Farag, the Thinker and Strategic Expert, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakeem, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Afaf El-Awfy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, a number of former university presidents and vice presidents, deans, vice-deans of faculties, and a large gathering of faculty members and students from various colleges.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed Major General Sameer Farag, praising him as a great national value and intellectual and strategic stature, asserting that his visions and analyses enrich youth awareness and support their understanding of the most important issues and challenges facing Egyptian national security. The University President pointed out that the Egyptian state, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, gives special attention to the youth as they represent the present and the future, stressing that the October War will remain a symbol of national dignity and glory, and the great victory achieved by the Egyptian Army during it embodies the highest meanings of sacrifice and devotion. Dr. Konsowa clarified that current challenges require the preparation of an educated and conscious generation capable of bearing responsibility, noting that the Peace Conference held in Sharm El Sheikh in October 2025 represents a new victory for the Egyptian will and its pioneering role in establishing peace in the Middle East. He also affirmed the university's commitment to organizing such educational seminars to raise awareness, instill the spirit of belonging, and correct misconceptions, which positively reflects on building minds and fostering loyalty to the homeland.

For his part, Major General Dr. Sameer Farag thanked Alexandria University for organizing the seminar, starting his talk by asserting that the October War was not just a military battle but a national epic that embodied the highest meanings of determination, doctrine, and scientific planning. He explained that the victory was achieved thanks to sound preparation and meticulous planning, which began immediately after the 1967 setback by rebuilding the Egyptian Army on modern scientific foundations, developing armament and training systems, and establishing the principle of complete secrecy in formulating strategic and tactical plans. He indicated that the Egyptian leadership succeeded in achieving the element of surprise at all levels, from setting "H-hour" to managing the battle on the Egyptian and Syrian fronts with precise strategic harmony, which makes the October War still studied in war colleges around the world as a unique model in planning and leadership. General Farag also spoke about the lessons learned from the October War in building the modern state, stressing that military victory is incomplete without national consciousness to preserve its achievements, and that today's battle is a "Battle of Consciousness" no less important than yesterday's battles, aimed at protecting the minds of youth from disinformation campaigns and Fourth and Fifth Generation warfare targeting social cohesion and public trust in its institutions. The Strategic Expert then moved to analyze the current situation in the Middle East, noting that the region is witnessing a redraw of the map of regional and international influence, and attempts to ignite conflicts in some countries with the aim of fragmenting their internal stability. He affirmed that the Egyptian position is characterized by steadfastness and balance, especially regarding the Palestinian issue, where Egypt categorically rejects any attempts to displace Palestinians from Gaza, and simultaneously works to consolidate the truce and support reconstruction efforts, which resulted from the recent Peace Conference in Sharm El Sheikh that reaffirmed Egypt's pivotal role as a fundamental pillar of security and stability in the region. General Farag concluded his speech by asserting that consciousness is the first line of defense for the nation, calling on the youth to unite behind the political leadership and the Great Egyptian Army to preserve the nation's security and stability, and to actively participate in the process of construction and development witnessed by the Egyptian state.
On the sidelines of the seminar, the University President inaugurated an art exhibition featuring the works of students from the Faculty of Specific Education. The University Choir also presented a distinguished performance, followed by a sports show by the students of the Faculty of Sports Science for Girls
In conclusion of the event, Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa honored Major General Sameer Farag in appreciation of his national contribution and efforts in spreading awareness and promoting national belonging among the youth.
