Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Medicine and the university hospitals on the recognition of the Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Center at the Main University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, as one of the top ten centers worldwide outside the United States, ranking seventh globally, according to the latest classification issued by the Cardiac Research Foundation (CRF) during the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2025 Conference, one of the world’s most prestigious scientific events specializing in cardiology and advanced cardiac interventions.

Dr. Konsowa expressed his pride in this remarkable achievement, describing it as a culmination of continuous efforts to advance medical services and scientific research at Alexandria University. He emphasized that this global recognition reflects the distinguished standing of the university and its medical professionals on the international stage, and highlights the competence and excellence of Egyptian physicians capable of achieving leadership in major global scientific forums. He added that this success is also a testament to the ongoing support from the Egyptian state in developing healthcare and research systems and embodies the university’s commitment to its mission of serving humanity and the community. He extended his best wishes to the Faculty of Medicine for continued progress across medical, academic, and research fields.

Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, stated that this achievement is the result of integrated teamwork within the Department of Cardiology, in collaboration with the faculty administration, hospitals, and civil society. He noted that this accomplishment represents an exemplary model of Centers of Clinical Excellence, established according to the highest quality standards and under the directives of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University.

He further added that the inclusion of the Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Center among the world’s top ten centers is the outcome of the dedicated efforts of the department’s outstanding team and their commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in cardiology and cardiovascular interventions.
