Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs, received today H.E. Mr. Aamer Shaukat, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Cairo, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the University’s International Relations Office; Dr. Magdy Agamia, Professor of Comparative Literature and Persian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts; and Mr. Asad Khan, Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo.
The meeting came within the framework of exploring avenues for academic and research cooperation and strengthening partnerships between Alexandria University and Pakistani educational institutions.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Abdel Hakim welcomed the Pakistani ambassador, conveying the greetings of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, and affirming the deep-rooted historical relations between Egypt and Pakistan. He reviewed the university’s distinguished capabilities, including highly qualified academic staff, advanced technological infrastructure, and a clear strategy for enhancing education, scientific research, and community service. He also highlighted the university’s expansion in international double and joint degree programs with leading global universities, as well as the comprehensive educational services provided to international students and the university’s overseas branches.
Dr. Abdel Hakim expressed Alexandria University’s aspiration to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation with Pakistani universities in fields such as medicine, engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and the humanities. He pointed out that the Department of Oriental Languages at the Faculty of Arts offers a program for teaching the Urdu language, and that the university’s Center for Teaching Arabic to Foreigners provides distinguished services to learners from various countries.
For his part, Ambassador Aamer Shaukat expressed his pleasure at visiting Alexandria University, praising its prestigious regional and international standing, its advanced scientific and research capabilities, modern laboratories, and outstanding academic staff. He affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Egyptian academic institutions—particularly Alexandria University—across various scientific and research fields. The ambassador also emphasized the deep appreciation the Pakistani people hold for Egypt, describing it as a nation of inspiring civilization and rich history that binds the two peoples together.
