Dr. Hesham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, received a Libyan delegation that included Dr. Mohamed Ashour, Deputy of the Libyan Academy for Educational Affairs; Dr. Abdel-Samea Al-Suteir, Member of the Postgraduate Studies Committee at the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education; and Mr. Mohamed Al-Hakeely, Advisor to the Libyan Embassy in Cairo. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Hala Mokalled, Executive Director of the Administration for International Students’ Affairs and Welfare at the university, with the aim of exploring prospects for academic and research cooperation between the two sides.
In his remarks, Dr. Saeed emphasized the deep-rooted historical ties and strong relations between Egypt and Libya, affirming Alexandria University’s keenness to support international students, remove obstacles they may face, and provide all necessary facilities related to enrollment, study, and accommodation. He also highlighted the university’s efforts to enhance educational and administrative services as well as cultural and social activities that help students integrate into campus life. Furthermore, he reviewed the university’s initiatives to expand international cooperation through agreements with leading global universities, joint and dual degree programs, and the establishment of international branches of the university. He also pointed to the university’s commitment to establishing a Technology Park to link scientific research with industry and promote the commercialization of research outputs. Dr. Saeed stressed that this visit represents an important step toward strengthening collaboration with Libyan universities across various academic and research fields.
For their part, the Libyan delegation expressed their appreciation for Alexandria University and its prominent role in providing an outstanding educational environment for Libyan students. They affirmed their pride in the strong relations between the two countries and the Libyan government’s desire to expand cooperation with Alexandria University as one of the region’s leading educational destinations. The delegation also praised the remarkable progress witnessed in the university’s academic programs and diverse research activities.
