Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the university’s Center for Teaching Arabic to Foreigners received a high-level Danish delegation headed by H.E. Lars Bo Møller, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Cairo. The delegation included members of the Danish Parliament and several former ministers, who visited to explore prospects of academic and research cooperation between Alexandria University and Danish universities.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Advisor to the University President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Lana Habib, Executive Director of the Center; and Ms. Noha El-Senousy, Academic Director of the Copenhagen University and Aarhus University programs.

In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen expressed his pride in the distinguished relations between Egypt and Denmark, highlighting Alexandria University’s commitment to enhancing competitiveness through the internationalization of education, joint and dual degree programs with prestigious European universities, and establishing branches of highly ranked international universities in collaboration with the university.

For their part, the Danish delegation expressed their pleasure at visiting Alexandria University and praised the prominent role of the Center for Teaching Arabic to Foreigners in building bridges between Arab culture and other world cultures. They also affirmed their aspiration for joint cooperation in academic and research fields of mutual interest.

Dr. Lana Habib further explained that the visit aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation with Danish universities, in addition to meeting with the center’s students and listening to their experiences in learning Arabic—an exceptional gateway to immersing themselves in Egyptian and Arab culture.

Dr. Lana Habib and Ms. Nahla El-Senousy also presented the Alexandria Geographical Memory Project on the historic Alexandria Tram, which reflects the longstanding cooperation between Egypt and Denmark.

The visit concluded with an introductory tour of the center, during which faculty members and staff engaged in dialogue with the delegation, emphasizing the importance of broadening avenues of collaboration in

education and scientific research.
