As part of Alexandria University and Alexandria National University's commitment to strengthening their international presence and opening up to global educational experiences, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University and Acting President of Alexandria National University, participated in the 35th European Association for International Education conference and exhibition (EAIE 2025), hosted by Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 9 to 12. The event featured broad participation from universities and academic institutions from around the world.
Dr. Konsowa emphasized that this participation comes within the framework of implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt's Vision 2030, which places the internationalization of education as a national priority, in accordance with the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He explained that Alexandria University has become a model of advanced academic and research programs, noting that the exhibition represents an important opportunity to showcase the university's achievements and explore prospects for cooperation with major international universities in the areas of double and joint programs and degrees, establishing international branches, and enhancing cooperation in scientific research and innovation. He also noted that the university places special emphasis on activating the role of its Technology Park to transform scientific research outputs into a knowledge-based economy that contributes to community service and sustainable development.
The Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition witnessed a distinguished presence, with a delegation of 25 Egyptian universities, in addition to the high-level participation of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This reflects the strength of the Egyptian higher education system and its pioneering role at the regional and international levels.
Dr. Konsowa indicated that Alexandria University's participation in the exhibition contributed to highlighting its position among international universities through holding bilateral meetings and exchanging experiences with representatives of foreign universities, opening new horizons for academic and research cooperation and strengthening efforts to attract international students to study at the university.
The Alexandria University delegation, in addition to the University President, included:

- Professor Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant President for Internationalization of Education and International Branch Campuses.
- Dr. Tamer Helmy, Director of Engineering Programs at Alexandria National University.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr. Konsowa held several meetings with representatives of prestigious universities and research institutes to discuss opportunities for cooperation in dual and joint degrees, the establishment of international branches, and joint research projects. They also discussed developing partnerships in the field of scientific research and innovation, which would enhance the university's role in building a knowledge economy.
