Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received yesterday Dr. Mohamed Lafi Al-Azmi, Director of the Scientific Research and Innovation Centre at Al-Asalah University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to discuss potential academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities.

During the meeting, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the university's guest and welcomed cooperation with Al-Asalah University. He emphasized Alexandria University's readiness to provide the necessary academic and research support and exchange expertise between the two sides, particularly in the field of joint programs and staff training. He also indicated the possibility of accepting students from Al-Asalah University to study one or more semesters of the undergraduate program at Alexandria University, and to explore the possibility of students spending a number of academic years at Alexandria University, which would qualify them to complete a master's degree at one of the foreign universities that cooperate with Alexandria University within the dual master's degree programs.

For his part, Dr. Al-Azmi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Alexandria University and its President for the support and care he received during his studies at Alexandria University. He praised the significant role played by the university and its professors in his academic and research development, which qualified him to assume his current position, directly assigned by the President of Al-Asalah University, in recognition of his competence and experience in the field of scientific research. In this context, Dr. Al-Azmi explained that his visit comes within the framework of his assignment by Al-Asalah University to explore the possibility of concluding a cooperation agreement with Alexandria University, which is a distinguished model of academic and research excellence, and in recognition of the role it has played in qualifying cadres in various disciplines.

It is worth noting that Dr. Mohamed Lafi Al-Azmi obtained a master’s degree in chemistry in 2021, followed by a PhD in 2024 from the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University.
