As part of the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system in Alexandria Governorate, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Dr. Ihab Abu Eish, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides. The meeting was attended by Professor Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa emphasized the university's commitment to developing the education system, scientific research, and community service. He noted that the university hospitals—11 in number, with a capacity of 4,400 beds—operate around the clock to provide distinguished healthcare services to the public, in addition to their academic role in education, training, and research. He also indicated that the anticipated cooperation with the Authority aims to provide sustainable, high-quality medical services to all segments of Alexandrian society within the framework of implementing the comprehensive health insurance system. He emphasized the university hospitals' readiness to cooperate within this system to become an effective and integrated part of it, ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services.

For his part, Dr. Ihab Abu Eish expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by Alexandria University, praising its outstanding level. He added that the comprehensive health insurance system is currently being successfully implemented in six governorates, expressing his aspiration to begin cooperation with Alexandria University to implement the system in Alexandria governorate in the coming period. Abu Eish also emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between Ministry of Health hospitals, university hospitals, and the private sector within the framework of the health insurance system, to provide quality and innovative health services. This is achieved by employing the latest medical technologies, contributing to improving health services to the public according to the highest quality standards.
