The Council of Graduate Studies and Research at Alexandria University, meeting this morning, Thursday, June 19, 2025, headed by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, congratulated the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for the inclusion of the faculty's journal in the Scopus index. The Council also congratulated the Faculty of Engineering for the inclusion of the Alexandria Engineering Journal among the top 4% of global indexed journals according to the 2024 Scopus International Ranking of Scientific Journals.
- The Council also reviewed some of the decisions taken by the Supreme Council of Graduate Studies during its session last May, including reducing postgraduate tuition fees for students with disabilities at Egyptian universities, presenting the "Horizons Europe" research and innovation program, and presenting the platform for the program content and available specializations. The Council also noted the Supreme Council of Universities' decision to establish a dynamic central database containing all ongoing and completed scientific research projects at Egyptian universities. The Council also reviewed the topic of preparing a proposed marketing business model for university scientific equipment for investment purposes, and increasing the universities' own resources was discussed.
- A report was presented on the progress and follow-up rates at Alexandria University Libraries using the Future Library Management System from July 1 to December 31, 2025. Alexandria University distinguished itself with high rates in all library automation activities.
- The Council approved the restructuring of the Board of Directors of the Scientific Journal of the Faculty of Specific Education, ensuring compliance with the required standards, and approving the establishment of the bylaws for the Professional Diploma in Patient Safety at the Medical Research Institute.
- The Council also approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Alexandria University and the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education and Training (Royal College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London).
