As part of Alexandria University's efforts to provide banking services to university students, Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa m, President of Alexandria University, and Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt, signed a joint cooperation protocol. The protocol provides a comprehensive package of banking benefits and services to students, provides summer training opportunities, educational seminars, and supports university hospitals
For his part, Dr. Konsowa expressed the university's pride in cooperating with the National Bank of Egypt, the largest bank in the country. He explained that the cooperation between the two parties and the automation of payments will significantly contribute to spreading banking culture among students, for whom modern technology is the foundation of their daily interactions in all fields. He emphasized that this cooperation will provide more banking services to university students using "Meeza" cards, which are part of the university's drive towards digital transformation. Students will be able to use these cards to pay all tuition and other expenses on campus as an alternative to cash payments. He also noted the cooperation between the two parties to support university hospitals to strengthen partnerships in serving the community.
Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt, indicated that this cooperation with Alexandria University falls within the bank's strategy to support digital transformation and financial inclusion. This is achieved by providing youth and university students with the latest innovative banking products and services designed for this segment of university students. The goal is to provide a superior and more convenient banking experience that puts the customer first and meets the changing needs and requirements of students.
The signing of the agreement was attended by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Ayman Shteiwi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Essam Badawi, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and officials from various departments at the National Bank of Egypt.
