In line with Alexandria University's commitment to supporting its distinguished students in all fields, the Alexandria University Council, during its session held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, chaired by Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, honoured male students from the Faculty of Physical Education for Students who achieved outstanding accomplishments in the international sports championships in which they participated.
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa emphasized that this honour serves as an encouragement to its promising students and in recognition of their significant sporting achievements and their honourable representation of Egypt in international sporting events. He wished them continued progress and success in achieving international championships.
Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, emphasized the university's role in organizing various student activities, nurturing talented students, and providing all forms of support that help them continue to achieve sporting success. He congratulated the honoured students on their outstanding results in African and international competitions.
Dr. Asaad El-Kiki, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Boys, emphasized that the University Council's honouring of the faculty's athletic champions underscores the university's commitment to supporting young talent. He emphasized the faculty’s commitment to providing all possible support to its athletes, who represent Egypt at home and abroad, enabling them to achieve advanced positions in local, regional, and international competitions and championships.
** The honourees are:
- Omar Mohamed El-Arabi, who won first place globally in gymnastics in 2025, first place in the African Championships in 2024, 2023, 2021, and 2018, first place in the Arab Championship in 2022, and first place in the Romanian International Championships in 2024 and 2023.
- El-Sayed Ali El-Sayed Attia, who won first place globally in the under-20 weightlifting category and first place in the African Games in 2024.
- Abdallah Mohamed Hassan Ghoneim, who won first place in the African Taekwondo Championships in 2024.
- Ahmed Mohamed Abdelrehim, winner of the African Youth Handball Championship (goalkeeper for the Egyptian national team) in Tunisia 2024.
- Mohamed Mostafa Mohamed Mohamed, winner of first place in African Youth Championship 2024 in Cameroon.
