Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the "First Career Week" concludes today. Organized by the University Centre for Career Development at the Faculty of Business, the event lasted from Sunday, May 4th until the 8th, at the centre’s headquarters at the Faculty of Business. The event aims to enable students and graduates to explore available career opportunities, connect with industry experts, and acquire the skills necessary to enter the job market.
The closing day will witness the launch of the "Career Compass" program, the first-of-its-kind career guidance program at Alexandria University. This program aims to organize individual meetings for students with experts in various fields to gain information tailored to each student's needs and concerns, based on their area of interest.
Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty of Business, noted that this is the first time the University Centre for Career Development has organized a comprehensive Career Week, as part of the Centre's efforts to enhance students' readiness for the labour market and directly connect them with real opportunities for training, employment, and personal development. He explained that the five-day event included a variety of activities, including meetings with major companies, practical workshops, and personal interviews, in addition to events related to entrepreneurship and career guidance.
Dr. Alaa El-Din El-Gharbawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, noted that the Career Week provided real opportunities for training and employment for the Faculty of Business's students and graduates, through direct meetings with prestigious companies such as Sprints, Azimut, Prometeon, Chefz, Teleperformance, Tac Universe Agency, Mubasher Trade, and the National Bank of Egypt, in addition to guidance sessions presented by distinguished experts in their fields.
Dr. Aisha Hamdy, Director of the University Centre for Professional Development at the Faculty of Business at Alexandria University and supervisor of the week's activities, said that the week hosted a select group of guests and speakers, including Dr. Sally Hosni, Human Resources Expert, Ms. Alaa Dahshour, Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at PepsiCo, and Mr. Osama Qutb, known as the "Wolf of LinkedIn," in addition to representatives of business incubators and accelerators ICE Alex, CREATIVA, and other partners supporting students' journeys towards their professional futures.
