Within the framework of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the golden jubilee of the glorious October victories, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, Faculty of Agriculture in Saba Pasha organized a celebration entitled “October of Victory and Pride... Men Who Made History” in the faculty’s conference hall, in which it hosted the fighting hero, a marine brigade. Omar Izz al-Din, the hero of Eilat, and the hero, the fighter of the Saiqa Brigade, Ilmi Hussein Kamel, the hero of the Battle of Abu Atwa.

At the beginning of the celebration, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Dean of the College, welcomed the Egyptian heroes, and sent a greeting of respect and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the October War, praising the courage of the Egyptian heroes in confronting the enemy. He called on the students to beware of rumors as it is one of the fourth generation wars... and asked them to pay attention to science, as it is the way to build. And progress..
During the celebration, which was moderated by the media advisor, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah, in the presence of Dr. Iman Ayyad, Acting Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Ibrahim Abbas, Vice Dean of the College for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the college’s choral team performed a number of patriotic songs expressing the glorious victories of October.
 
 
 
The hero, Marine Major General Omar Ezz El-Din, spoke about the beginning of the conflict with the enemy since the war of June 5, 1967, and the situation in which the Egyptian army members were, going through the war of attrition and the enemy’s infliction of many military losses. Ezz El-Din said that the destroyer Eilat, belonging to the Israeli enemy, was actually destroyed by missile launchers on the day. October 21, 1967 off the coast of Port Said, while the port of Eilat and ships transporting soldiers and equipment were destroyed by frogs two years later, specifically on November 15, 1969.
 
 
 
Meanwhile, the hero, Sa’iqa Brigade fighter Almi Hussein Kamel, referred to the details of the Abu Atwa battle, which stopped the Israeli forces from advancing towards Ismailia and Cairo, and the details that led to the great victory.
At the end of the celebration, the Dean of the College honored a number of full-time professors at the Saba Pasha College of Agriculture who participated in the glorious October War, and presented the fighting heroes with the College’s shield in appreciation of their great sacrifices.
