As part of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the glorious October victories, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Popular and Military Defense Forces, in cooperation with the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences, organized a seminar entitled “Strategic Planning as One of the Factors Behind the Victory of the October War 1973.”
The seminar was delivered by Brigadier General Ahmed Fouad El-Qadi, Advisor at the Center for Strategic Studies of the Armed Forces, and held in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Magda Madbouly, Dean of the Faculty, along with a number of faculty members, representatives from the Military Education Department, and a large group of university students.
During his lecture, Brig. Gen. El-Qadi discussed the vital role of strategic planning as a key factor in achieving the historic victory, emphasizing that meticulous preparation and careful planning formed the foundation of the successful crossing operation. He reviewed the stages of preparation for the war and highlighted the lessons learned in building national capabilities and addressing current challenges.
For his part, Col. Mohamed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, stated that the seminar comes within the university’s efforts to instill values of patriotism and national belonging among youth. He affirmed that the heroism of the October War will remain a lasting source of inspiration for future generations to face challenges with determination and thoughtful planning.
At the conclusion of the seminar, university students expressed their pride in the Egyptian Armed Forces’ role in protecting the nation and achieving the historic victory.
Prof. Dr. Magda Madbouly presented the Faculty Shield to Brig. Gen. Ahmed Fouad El-Qadi in appreciation of his service and heroism during the October War, stressing that the heroes of the Armed Forces will always remain symbols of sacrifice and devotion in the service of the homeland.
