English Faculty of Education1966
The Faculty of Education at Alexandria University was established at the beginning of the academic year 66/1667 (its name at that time was the Teachers College). Admission was limited to high school, with its literary and scientific sections. It was consisted of five departments: English, French, History, Geography, Philosophy and Sociology. The faculty attempts to focus on the scientific research based on its own strategic plan to spread the culture of innovation and creativity among the students through many activities in the faculty. So the faculty works to prepare a graduate with theoretical knowledge and practical experience as well as positive attitude that can help in the community development

The Ministry of Education had suffered for long years from obvious shortage in applied schools (home economy, music education and art education) as there was few specialized faculties that provide the ministry with its needs in those disciplines for example the faculty of Home Economy in Cairo and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria, but most of alumni always made their way to other areas not to teaching career in addition that the faculties of teachers were interested to educate applied curricula so that the society missed the qualified teacher who able to teach these courses. So, consideration has been given to the establishment of faculties of specific education that prepare reliable teacher in the development of students’ personality through educational programs in arts, music and home economy.

The Faculty of Kindergarten was established in Alexandria in 1989, the culmination of efforts to promote the Egyptian child and prepared to keep pace with the era of information technology so that we can lay the foundations of the State of Civilized is set to regain its position as one of the beacons of science and civilization in the world. And the belief of the University of Alexandria, in turn, broad civilization chose to increase the expansion of scientific wills to seek to establish the rules to include the Faculty of kindergarten of Alexandria University this giant performed its mission as a beacon of contemporary teacher at Arab home. Decree No. 389 of the 1998 for the annexation of the Faculty of kindergarten to the University of Alexandria; due to the status of the Egyptian child, the University of Alexandria has taken care to prepare our children a proper setting, which qualifies them to keep up with the ride of progress.

The High Institution of Physical Education for Girls was established in 1954 as belonging to Ministry of Education. The duration of the study was three years; then it was increased to four years in 1958 in order to grant the Bachelor Degree. Helwan University was established in 197 to include the high institutions, so the High Institution for Physical Education became under the umbrella of Helwan University with the name of "Faculty of Physical Education for Girls in Alexandria".
