Main Library activities:

Supplying

Includes the purchase of books with faculty members, under the supervision of Prof.Dr. / Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and includes detailed lists of publishers and requested books for the library, where the library dedicate books needed by faculty members and students, taking into account that it must arrive before the beginning of the academic year to serve the educational process.

And also the library provides its branches with books, references, periodicals and encyclopedias.

Indexing

Includes each type of information, periodicals, theses and preparation, processing and using retaining files of authors name, institutions and lists of heads topics with the application of the rules and International Cataloguing standards.

Categorization

It includes books, periodicals, theses, encyclopedias according to international rating standards.

Registration

Registering books, theses, periodicals and encyclopedias, also includes book's name, publisher, author, size of the book, price of the book, and the book classification.

Serialization

Serialization of books, theses, encyclopedias and listing it on the shelves, according to specialization to facilitate the educational process.

Borrowing

The library provides the internal or external borrowing for faculty members in all departments and students of all departments and researchers.

Also the library receives delegations and faculty members from other faculties and students interested in faculty branches such as the Faculty of Engineering and Academy .......... etc.

 Library specialist always warn faculty members, and latecomers students in returning books for the benefit of everyone, and also make cards for students in all departments.

And there are regulations define borrowing for faculty members and students and graduate studies.

Binding

The Main Library prepared lists of damaged books and how binding and repair it.

Dedication

Library receives dedications sent to us from Alexandria University and other universities, as well as from faculty members, and the library do the necessary measures from bills as well as registration for books .......... etc

Guidance

The library guide faculty members, students to reference sources and books that they are looking for in all disciplines to serve the educational process and supervising the library visitors to ensure the safety of the use of the references.

Library Committee

Be chaired by the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and the committee members of faculty members and library director to discuss the position of the library and solve problems faced by the library to facilitate the educational process and to discuss the budget for the purchase of books and work to promote the library even keep pace with other libraries.

Participation in the development of programs and plans for the future, which aims to raise the level of services carried out by libraries.

Library of Decoration Department

Serving only faculty members and students of painting department and graduate studies and providing internal and external borrowing for faculty members, students and researchers according to the regulations. It is considered a specialized library in the Department of decoration and the main library providing it with books, references, periodicals, according to the department's needs.

Library of Graphic Department

Serving only faculty members and students of painting department and graduate studies and providing internal and external borrowing for faculty members, students and researchers according to the regulations. It is considered a specialized library in the Department of decoration and the main library is providing it with books, references, periodicals, according to the department's needs.

Library of Painting Department

Serving only faculty members and students of painting department and graduate studies and providing internal and external borrowing for faculty members, students and researchers according to the regulations. It is considered a specialized library in the Department of decoration and the main library is providing it with books, references, periodicals, according to the department's needs.

Digital Library

Which belong to Alexandria University and all data (databases and files) be entered by specialists, in addition to books whether foreign or Arab, also Theses and periodicals, encyclopedias and there is also site for the digital library on Alexandria University Network to keep pace with other faculties in the development of information technology systems, and the digital library is preparing a bibliographic lists which shows the contents of the library from publications.

Electronic Library

Which belong to the Faculty of Fine Arts and serve all faculty members in all departments, and provide Internet service for research and also provide bibliographic about books of our library and others libraries and global libraries, such as Congress Library and creating a systems for libraries in the form of a set of databases and files that store all data types.
