Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Olivia Todrian, Ambassador of Romania in Cairo, to discuss means of cooperation in academic and research fields of common interest.

In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the Romanian Ambassador to Alexandria University, stressing his pride in the distinguished relations between the two countries, which would provide an opportunity for further cooperation in scientific and research fields of common interest. During the meeting, he reviewed Alexandria University's vision and plan towards internationalizing education and establishing partnerships with world-class universities, expanding the establishment of international branches outside Egypt, as well as establishing partnerships for branches of foreign universities on the university's grounds in Borg El Arab, expanding the establishment of dual programs and degrees with major prestigious international universities, as well as establishing international partnerships to support the Technology Park at Alexandria University, to be a nucleus for enhancing the concept of knowledge-based industry and linking the outputs of scientific research to industry and transforming them into products of economic value.

Dr. Konsowa also pointed to the distinguished relations and cooperation protocols between Alexandria University and many world universities with a distinguished academic ranking, expressing his aspiration to develop cooperation with Romanian academic institutions in scientific and research fields of common interest through the exchange of expertise, ideas and scientific research, especially in the fields of nanotechnology, water technology and energy.

Ambassador Olivia Toderian stressed her keenness to consolidate scientific and research cooperation with Egyptian academic institutions in general and Alexandria University in particular, praising the distinguished level of Alexandria University in various academic fields, and the possibility of cooperation with Romanian universities in many academic and research fields.
The meeting included a presentation by Alexandria University to review its human and material capabilities and its strategy to raise the level of education and scientific research and its international relations, and a presentation by the Romanian side during which the material and human capabilities of Romanian academic institutions and the opportunities for cooperation available with Egyptian universities were reviewed.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office at Alexandria University, Dr. Gihan Gewaifel, Assistant President for Internationalization of Education and International University Branches, Dr. Boshra Salem, Assistant President for University Ranking, Dr. Mohamed El-Feki, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Dr. Ayman Shetewi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Naglaa Abuou-Agag, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Amani Suleiman, Executive Director of the International Relations Office at the Faculty of Arts.
