Within the framework of the cooperation protocol concluded between Alexandria and Damanhour Universities, and in light of the directives of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Alexandria University delegation, representatives of the Advisory Committee to equip the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital at Damanhour University, headed by Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, made a visit to Damanhour University yesterday, Thursday, January 16, 2025, to provide advice and benefit from their technical and administrative expertise in equipping the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in Damanhour, in accordance with the protocol concluded between the two parties for joint cooperation to benefit from the technical and administrative expertise of the faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, in various academic fields, as well as health services, training and quality standards.
The delegation was received by Dr. Elhamy Tarabis, President of Damanhour University, who thanked Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa for his tangible efforts, distinguished generosity, and fruitful cooperation with Damanhour University, and the support provided by Alexandria University to the universities of the northern region, expressing his great happiness in cooperating with a distinguished elite of professors from the prestigious Alexandria University, hoping that this cooperation will be crowned with success in providing a distinguished service, and a turning point in the medical services provided in Beheira Governorate to serve the people of the governorate and its surroundings.
The meeting included discussing the establishment, equipping, furnishing, and accreditation of the Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals, mechanisms for developing and setting regulations, curricula, and study plans for the Faculty of Medicine at Damanhour University, evaluating the quality of medical study programs and developing them, as well as developing the capabilities of faculty members, preparing a distinguished training matrix to raise the efficiency of the administrative structure of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in Damanhour, and exchanging study materials, published research, and other scientific and technological information. The mechanisms for exchanging administrative experiences were also discussed regarding the administrative and service structures of university hospitals, with an agreement to organize mutual visits to increase awareness and participation in the university hospital management system.
This was followed by an inspection tour by the Advisory Committee delegation of the construction site of the Faculty of Medicine campus and the University Hospital, to view the latest developments and follow up on the ongoing finishing works, in order to give a technical medical opinion to apply the best standards in finishing the laboratories, lecture halls and classrooms, and to set a timetable for review and follow up on developments as they happen.
