The Council for Postgraduate Studies and Research, which convened this morning, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hesham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs, discussed the new Research Integrity Index (RI2) and its impact on scientific research in Egyptian universities.

The Council recommended the use of the official university email address when publishing in internationally indexed journals.

It also emphasized the need to limit the use of artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT, which have become widely used since their launch in 2022, and to ensure the responsible and ethical use of these tools when writing scientific papers before submitting them for publication.

The Council further stressed adherence to the AI Guidelines announced by the Supreme Council of Universities.

The Council proposed the activation of the Scientific Integrity Office at Alexandria University to monitor the publication of scientific research, identify the causes of article retractions, and hold researchers accountable through appropriate legal procedures.

An addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Faculty of Science and the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (France) for cooperation in postgraduate studies, research, and joint supervision of academic theses.

A cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Physical Education for Girls and the General Syndicate of Sports Professions in Cairo, to collaborate in developing and enhancing skills, training, and capacity-building for professionals in the sports sector in Egypt.

A Master’s program in Law (Public and Private) between the Faculty of Law and Al-Noor University in the Republic of Iraq.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Faculty of Agriculture (Saba Pasha) and Wuhan Frasergen Bioinformatics Co. Ltd.

The renaming of the “Department of Health Administration and Behavioral Sciences” (Health Education and Behavioral Sciences specialization) at the High Institute of Public Health to become “Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences.”

The renaming of the “Department of Pharmacognosy and Experimental Therapeutics” at the Medical Research Institute to become “Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.”
