The celebration was attended by Dr. Doaa El-Dardiry Abou El-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Eman Mahmoud El-Sherif, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Sabrine Attia Morsal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Naglaa Fathy Khalifa, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Lamia El-Shafie, Coordinator of Voluntary Activities at Alexandria University. The event also witnessed the presence of several faculty members, heads of academic departments, and students participating in various student activities.
The celebration began with the Egyptian national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech by the Dean, who greeted all guests and participants, affirming that the October War anniversary will always remain a source of pride and inspiration for future generations, as it embodies the spirit of patriotism, determination, and perseverance.
The program included an awareness seminar delivered by Major General Gamal El-Din Mohamed Rashad, former Head of Armament of the Egyptian Air Force, entitled “The Heroics of October: Then and Now.” In his lecture, he reviewed the stages of preparation for victory from 1967 until the great crossing on October 6, 1973. He emphasized that this day will forever be a shining milestone in Egyptian and Arab history, reflecting the will and capability of Egyptians to achieve the impossible.
Following the seminar, students of the Faculty presented a musical operetta titled “Tahya Misr” (Long Live Egypt), expressing deep feelings of pride and national belonging. This was followed by a patriotic musical performance by the Alexandria University Choir and Music Ensemble, under the supervision of the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department at the General Administration of Youth Welfare.
At the end of the celebration, the Dean expressed her sincere appreciation to all participants and organizers, praising the students and the university choir for their outstanding artistic performances that reflected a strong sense of national identity. She affirmed that the Faculty will continue to organize purposeful events that foster patriotism and loyalty among students.
