Faculty of Early Childhood Education Organizes Special Education Course

As part of Alexandria University’s role in community service, the Early Childhood Intervention Centre at the Faculty of Early Childhood Education is organizing a course to prepare special education specialists.
Dr. Rehab Saleh, the acting dean of the faculty, explained that the course includes training in several areas, including psychometric measurement of intelligence and autism, projective measures, autism treatment program ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), learning and communication difficulties, speech pathology, sensory integration, family counselling and behaviour modification.
Dr. Hala Omar, Executive Director of the Centre, indicated that the duration of the course is 30 practical hours and 24 theoretical hours, after which the trainee is granted a certificate of accreditation from the Faculty of Early Childhood Education - Alexandria University, which qualifies them to work as a special education specialist in one of the aforementioned fields.

Appointment of Dr. Khadija Abdel Aziz as Deputy of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Education and Student Affairs

 

Dr. Rushdy Zahran, President of Alexandria University issued a decree to appoint Dr. Khadija Ahmad Abdel Aziz the Professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry as Faculty Deputy for Education and Student Affairs for coming three years.

A professor form the University of Pisa, Italy in a visit to Alexandria University

In the framework of the Convention of "ERASMUS+KA107" between the University of Pisa in Italy and Alexandria University, the Faculty of Science received Prof. Julio Petrony; the professor of "Protistology". Dr. Petrony will address several lectures under the title: "Integrative Systematics of Ciliates and their Symbionts Biography & History: Recent Digital Surround Sound and Potential Scientific Collaborations."

The proposed lectures is discussing modern researches between of symbiotic relationship in organisms and bacteria. The visit also included reviewing the future opportunities for cooperation between the two universities through research projects. Dr. Petrony also visited the central laboratory in the faculty and labs of the Department of botany in Mohram Bek building.

 

Symposium on "Quadrature of a circle" by the Egyptian Scientist M. El Nashaey

The Faculty of Science, Alexandria University celebrated the Science Day with a symposium entitled "Quadrature of a circle" with the participation of the student chapter of the American Chemical Society "ACS". The event included lectures addressed Prof. Mohamed Salah El Din El Nashaey, professor of Physics and Nanotechnology.

Dr. El Nashaey spoke about the ancient Egyptians and discovering the approximate ratio. He also spoke on energy and nuclear reactors through the mathematics and sociology.

Dr. Ahmed Harb the former dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources Engineering in the German University in Jordan spoke

on the subject of the education system and university management in the German University in Jordan.

Alexandria University Celebrates "World Water Day"

 
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Rushdi Zahran, president of Alexandria University - Faculty of Agriculture organized a seminar entitled " Food security and sustainable resource management " on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of the water.
Prof. Mohamed Abaza, vice president for branch Matruh explained that such seminar comes with challenges taking place in Egypt, whether related to water resources or the growing food gap as a result of population growth and encroachment on agricultural land, solving these problems is through the optimum utilization of irrigation water and separated from the rationalization of drinking water consumption of Egypt's share of Nile water and the search for new solutions to save water and increase agricultural expansion on the Nile
