On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the Faculty of Business at Alexandria University held its 22nd International Scientific Conference under the theme: "Business Intelligence and Global Transformations". The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University; Professor Dr. Said Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Dr. Alaa El-Din El-Gharbawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The conference welcomed a distinguished group of deans and vice deans from various universities and higher institutes, alongside faculty members, teaching assistants, researchers, and a large number of students.

The conference program spanned five parallel scientific sessions, covering key topics in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Finance, Economics, and Information Systems. A total of 30 peer-reviewed research papers were presented, including five online presentations. The sessions featured 12 faculty members as discussants and attracted 24 attendees.

The event concluded with a set of significant recommendations, most notably: the need to train university faculty members in the use and instruction of business intelligence and artificial intelligence tools, and to integrate them into academic curricula, in order to prepare graduates equipped to meet the demands of both local and international job markets.

At the close of the conference, Professor Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the College Council, as well as all academic and administrative departments, for their dedicated efforts in organizing a conference that reflects the prestigious standing of the Faculty of Business at Alexandria University.

As part of Alexandria University's commitment to enhancing national awareness and fostering a sense of belonging among its students, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Popular and Military Defense Forces, represented by the Military Education Department in cooperation with the Faculty of Pharmacy, organized an educational lecture on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, entitled: "Regional Challenges and Their Impact on Egyptian National Security", delivered by Major General Dr. Bahgat Mohamed Farid.

The event was attended by Dr. Hanan El-Goweily, Dean of the Faculty, along with faculty vice deans, staff members, and a large group of students.

Major General Dr. Bahgat Mohamed Farid delivered a comprehensive analytical presentation highlighting the most pressing current regional challenges and their direct and indirect impacts on Egypt’s national security. He emphasized that societal awareness—especially among university youth—is the first line of defense against the threats posed by unconventional warfare. He noted that universities serve as beacons of enlightened thought capable of confronting such threats.

In her speech, Dr. Hanan El-Goweily stressed the importance of cultivating national awareness among students, pointing out that Egypt continuously faces challenges from forces aiming to undermine its stability. However, the awareness and loyalty of young people remain the strongest shield in confronting these challenges. She added that the university is no longer merely an educational institution, but has become a platform for shaping consciousness and building individuals capable of protecting the nation and positively engaging with societal issues.

Colonel Mohamed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, praised the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in enhancing collaboration with the General Command of Military Education, contributing to the achievement of strategic national and patriotic awareness goals.

This event is part of a series of lectures and programs implemented by Alexandria University in cooperation with the Military Education Department, aimed at strengthening the values of national belonging and instilling the concept of national security among students, reflecting the leading role of Egyptian universities in serving national causes and building the human capacity of the nation.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Higher Institute of Public Health organized a symposium yesterday entitled "Governance of Clinical and Field Research Ethics." The symposium was attended by Dr. Heba El-Qadi, Dean of the Higher Institute of Public Health; Dr. Zeinab Shata, Vice Dean of the Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Tamer Hafnawy, Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine and Secretary of the Supreme Council for Clinical Medical Research Ethics; Dr. Maha Ghanem, Professor of Forensic Medicine and Member of the Supreme Council for Clinical Medical Research Ethics; Dr. Jihan Goifel, Assistant President of the University for International Branches Affairs; Dr. Dina El-Gayar, Director of the Project Management Unit at the University; Dr. Abdel Moneim Fawzy, President of the Alexandria Doctors Syndicate; Dr. Mohamed Ansi El-Shafei, President of the Alexandria Pharmacists Syndicate; and a group of faculty members, specialists, and researchers from the Institute.

In her speech, Dr. Heba El-Qadi emphasized the importance of the symposium's topic in discussing the ethics of scientific research, especially in this era of accelerating discoveries and competing institutions for leadership. She emphasized that ethical conscience remains the true compass for researchers. She emphasized the importance of obtaining patient consent before conducting research, the confidentiality of patient data, and the right to withdraw without harm, noting that the researcher becomes responsible for protecting this privacy. She added that this symposium represents a good opportunity to exchange experiences and raise awareness of the importance of adhering to ethical standards, emphasizing that scientific progress is not measured solely by the results we achieve, but also by the method by which we arrive at those results.

In his speech, Dr. Tamer Hafnawy discussed the duties of the Supreme Council for Clinical Research Ethics, Law No. 214 of 2020 regulating clinical research and its executive regulations No. 927 of 2022. He also discussed the council's formation and organizational structure, its mission, which is to promote ethical standards in clinical research in Egypt, protect the rights and dignity of research participants, and promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability through oversight. He also addressed the council's values ​​of confidentiality, privacy, professionalism, governance, protection, security, and non-exploitation. He also addressed the council's duties, which include establishing a research database, surveying stakeholders, periodic review, inspection, complaints, and final review of research plans. He also addressed pre-clinical research related to humans and laboratory animals, and the Ethics Committee for the Use of Laboratory Animals in Research.

Dr. Maha Ghanem spoke about the Ethics Guide for the Care and Use of Experimental Animals in Education and Scientific Research, the importance of institutional committees, the importance of respecting human participants in research, the importance of following up on research implementation after ethical review, and the importance of Clinical Regulation No. 214 of 2020 and its Executive Regulations No. 927 of 2022.

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inaugurated the 23rd International Dental Conference, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Essam El-Kurdi, President of El Alamein International University, Dr. Mahmoud Mohi El-Din, President of Pharos University, as well as the heads of Al-Salam and Sinai Universities, the General Syndicate of Dentists, a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, Vice Presidents of Egyptian Universities, and participants from Arab and foreign countries.

In his speech during the opening of the conference, Dr. Konsowa stressed that the success story within the Faculty of Dentistry is part of the success stories taking place within Alexandria University, stressing that Alexandria University works institutionally to serve the educational process. He announced that Alexandria University currently has 52 double degrees with major international universities and aims to reach 87 degrees by the end of the academic year. Dr. Konsowa added that the university also seeks to establish international branches, in line with the state's vision for higher education, alongside Alexandria Public University and external branches in Chad and South Sudan, all with quality education and global competitiveness.
 
 
 
 
Dr. Konsowa also pointed to the importance of scientific research, stressing the need for scientific research to serve the economy and society. At the end of his speech, Dr. Konsowa announced the launch of an initiative within Alexandria University funded by the university's own resources with a value of 30 million Egyptian pounds to finance a group of research and creative ideas for Alexandria University members, and part of these ideas will be the launch of the technology park for Alexandria University. He called for coming out of this conference with recommendations that can be implemented in the form of start-up companies or know how to serve the industry.

Dr. Ahmed Abdelhakim, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and Chairman of the Conference, pointed out that this year's conference is characterized by a great scientific momentum represented by the participation of a large number of Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities, stressing the interest of the political leadership in the issues of development and scientific research, as the Ministry of Higher Education launched the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research to achieve the goals of developing education and raising its quality. He added that the Faculty of Dentistry seeks to implement the goals of the strategy in terms of developing and updating curricula, programs, examination systems and evaluation, as the philosophy of the Faculty is to establish a distinguished structure for practical and academic dental sciences according to the highest international standards in quality and scientific research for its students.

Dr. Mohamed Moataz Khamis, Professor at the Faculty and Conference Rapporteur, confirmed that this conference is one of the most important conferences in Egypt and the Middle East thanks to the efforts of the participating professors, and this year it includes 80 professors and researchers from 23 countries to present research and ideas, improve the services provided and cooperate with distinguished local and international scientific entities, with the aim of enhancing the exchange of knowledge and reviewing the latest modern technologies in the field of dentistry and providing advanced solutions to the challenges facing this field.
 
 
 
 
 
The conference hosts more than 80 lecturers and the conference program includes lectures rich in important topics on modern dental implant techniques, jaw tumor treatment, and 3D printing techniques (CADCAM), which reflects the remarkable development in the use of modern medical technology. The lectures also focus on topics of interest to a wide segment of attendees, such as dental aesthetics, the risks of smoking on oral health, and orthodontics for children.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the university president honored the presidents and vice presidents of universities, participants from different countries, and members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

As part of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the anniversary of the glorious October Victory, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture (Saba Pasha) organized a celebration entitled “October: Glory and Pride.”

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Fattah Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abbas, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Kamal Saqr, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

The celebration was coordinated and organized by Prof. Dr. Iman Ayad, former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with the Faculty’s Environmental Protection and Social Responsibility Team. The event witnessed wide participation from faculty members, assistant staff, administrators, students, and alumni, as well as a distinguished group of honored guests.

The ceremony hosted Egyptian war heroes Rear Admiral Nabil Abdel Wahab, hero of the Eilat Port Destruction Operation, and Major General Dr. Mohamed Nour El-Din, hero of the Kabrit Battle, with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah, media advisor. The guests shared their memories of heroism and sacrifice during the October War and delivered inspiring messages to young people about patriotism, belonging, and dedication to the nation’s progress.

Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Rehab, former Dean of the Faculty and Advisor to the University President for African Affairs, praised the honorable national role of Egypt’s heroes, affirming that the sacrifices of the October generation will remain a lasting source of pride and inspiration for generations to come.
