Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Engineering as its Alexandria Engineering Journal, published by the international publishing house Elsevier, was ranked among the top 4% of indexed journals globally, according to the international Scopus ranking for 2024.

 

The journal ranked 12th globally and first locally and in the Middle East in the field of engineering, with a CiteScore of 12.9, the highest since the journal's publication, according to the announcement by the international Scopus ranking.

As part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Senghor University, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, in cooperation with the Department of Culture at Senghor University, organized the first Cultural Tourism Forum. The forum was held under the title "Cultural Resources: Heritage and Tourism." The forum aimed to introduce graduate students at Senghor University to the cultural and tourism heritage of Alexandria.
 
 
The event was attended by Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Dr. Dina Ezz El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ribio Nzeza Bunketi Buse, Head of the Department of Culture at Senghor University, as well as faculty members, assisting staff, and students from both sides.
 
 
In her speech, Dr. Abeer Attia welcomed the attendees and participating students from Senghor University and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels. She noted that this event is part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Senghor University, with the aim of exchanging expertise between the two parties and exploring the culture, heritage, and tourism of Alexandria. She thanked the organizers of this event for their remarkable efforts.
Dr. Dina Ezz El-Din explained that the faculty is pleased to host faculty members and students from Senghor University to attend this forum, noting that several cultural, tourism, and heritage activities will be implemented between the two parties in the coming period.
 
 
During the meeting, a workshop on the holy month of Ramadan was held, to highlight Egyptian heritage during Ramadan. Students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Alexandria University also held an exhibition of their work to introduce Senghor University students to Egypt's heritage.
 
 
Senghor University students presented their projects to promote the culture and heritage of African countries.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Development, and Dr. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, inaugurated the 23rd Engineering Forum for Business and Careers 2025. The event was attended by Dr. Walid Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Essam Wahba, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Dina Saadallah, Director of Career Development Centers at Alexandria University; Dr. Mustafa El-Hadary, Secretary-General of the Alexandria Engineers Syndicate; and a host of members of the House of Representatives and Senate, faculty members, and heads of company and student councils.

In his speech, Dr. Saeed Allam emphasized that the 23rd Employment Forum is an important event that reflects the university's commitment to serving the community, developing the capabilities of its students, and preparing them to become future leaders. He added that Alexandria University is adopting an ambitious strategy to prepare distinguished graduates equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and education. He added that the university is committed to strengthening cooperation between the university and the industrial sector and providing opportunities that enable students and graduates to enter the job market with confidence and competence. He pointed out that the forum is an ideal platform for achieving these goals, especially as it brings together leading companies and prestigious institutions on the one hand, and students and graduates on the other. It is an opportunity to exchange experiences, discover available job opportunities, and build strong relationships between the university and the industrial sector. Dr. Saeed Allam thanked all the companies and institutions that participated in this forum, as their participation reflects their commitment to their social responsibilities and their support for development efforts in the surrounding community. Dr. Saeed Allam emphasized the importance of students making the most of this opportunity, communicating effectively with company representatives, and exploring all available options.

Dr. Walid Abdel Azim emphasized that organizing the forum comes within the framework of Alexandria University's initiatives aimed at supporting the training and employment of its students and graduates, in continuation of the pioneering educational, research and professional role that the university aspires to play in supporting the comprehensive development of the Egyptian people. He pointed out that the forum aims to enhance compatibility and integration between academic research and industrial requirements, as it witnesses the participation of an elite group of major companies operating in various engineering fields. He added that the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, with its distinguished expertise and strong capabilities, is one of the basic pillars in supporting major national projects, not only at the level of Alexandria Governorate, but also at the level of the entire republic. The faculty also plays an effective role in cooperating with the private sector, which in turn is a major driver of development. He added that this forum is one of the vital bridges of cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and the national industry in its comprehensive concept, as it allows for a close understanding of the challenges facing the labor market, which contributes to achieving harmony between the educational process and the needs of the production and service sectors and helps link educational outcomes to the labor market and society. He pointed out that the presence of major companies within the Faculty of Engineering reflects the great confidence in the graduates of the faculty, which is constantly being developed to keep pace with changes. The accelerating changes in the labor market, including digital transformation, the technological revolution, and the changing nature of jobs, emphasized that the forum includes 40 companies and institutions representing various sectors, including construction, industry, and services, offering real job and training opportunities.
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Wael Al-Maghlani noted that the employment forum is witnessing a great turnout from students and graduates, especially since it includes a large group of major companies in various engineering and information technology disciplines, which are a basic requirement in the age of technology. He emphasized that the College of Engineering is not limited to development and qualification in the educational aspect alone, but also focuses on training and linking courses to the technological and industrial community. He noted that the College of Engineering is committed to linking academia with industry through the Engineering Center, which serves as a link between the college and industry and serves as a consulting center for all engineering disciplines. He added that the college holds eight-week summer courses for students as a prerequisite for graduation, linking the outcomes of the educational process with industry.
 
 
 
Dr. Dina Saadallah emphasized that the forum aims to provide an environment that brings together companies, students, and graduates seeking job opportunities in the business and employment sectors. The forum provides an opportunity for students to submit their resumes and participate in on-the-spot interviews with representatives of major companies participating in the forum. She thanked the participating companies and institutions for being part of the event's success, and for their tangible efforts in recruiting and qualifying students and graduates.
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Mostafa El-Hadary added that the Engineers Syndicate's participation stems from its belief in its role in serving engineers. He emphasized that the Alexandria Engineers Syndicate has adopted the "Training Young Engineers" initiative to develop the skills of students and graduates through specialized courses in all engineering fields. The Syndicate has trained more than 10,000 students and engineers, and these courses have become part of the graduation requirements for students in the Faculty of Engineering.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Alexandria University, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, organized a symposium at the Faculty of Engineering. The symposium, titled "The Egyptian State's Vision in Confronting National Security Challenges," discussed the latest developments and challenges facing Egyptian national security at various levels. The symposium was attended by Dr. Walid Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, and a select group of faculty members, students, and military and civilian leaders interested in strategic affairs and national security.
 
 
 
Speaking at the symposium was Brigadier General Wael El-Abd, a strategic expert, who gave a detailed presentation and in-depth analysis of the Egyptian state's comprehensive vision for addressing these challenges. He emphasized the importance of concerted efforts between all state and societal institutions in confronting current challenges. He highlighted the constants of Egypt's vision for maintaining regional and international security and stability.
 
 
 
 
The attendees enriched the discussion following the lecture with numerous contributions and questions, reflecting their awareness of the importance of the topic and their eagerness to understand the dimensions of the issue.
 
 
 
 
At the conclusion of the symposium, the importance of continuing such events was emphasized, as they contribute to building a generation aware of their nation's challenges and capable of contributing to confronting them. Colonel Mohammed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department, highlighted the importance of these symposia in enhancing national awareness among young people and developing their strategic sense. He praised the vital role played by the Popular Defense Forces and the military in connecting educational institutions with security and national developments.
