Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Alexandria University, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, organized a symposium at the Faculty of Engineering. The symposium, titled "The Egyptian State's Vision in Confronting National Security Challenges," discussed the latest developments and challenges facing Egyptian national security at various levels. The symposium was attended by Dr. Walid Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Wael El-Maghlani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, and a select group of faculty members, students, and military and civilian leaders interested in strategic affairs and national security.
 
 
 
Speaking at the symposium was Brigadier General Wael El-Abd, a strategic expert, who gave a detailed presentation and in-depth analysis of the Egyptian state's comprehensive vision for addressing these challenges. He emphasized the importance of concerted efforts between all state and societal institutions in confronting current challenges. He highlighted the constants of Egypt's vision for maintaining regional and international security and stability.
 
 
 
 
The attendees enriched the discussion following the lecture with numerous contributions and questions, reflecting their awareness of the importance of the topic and their eagerness to understand the dimensions of the issue.
 
 
 
 
At the conclusion of the symposium, the importance of continuing such events was emphasized, as they contribute to building a generation aware of their nation's challenges and capable of contributing to confronting them. Colonel Mohammed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department, highlighted the importance of these symposia in enhancing national awareness among young people and developing their strategic sense. He praised the vital role played by the Popular Defense Forces and the military in connecting educational institutions with security and national developments.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Center of Excellence for Water at Alexandria University organized an introductory meeting on the Centers of Excellence for Agriculture and Water Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), at the center's headquarters in the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, with the participation of the center's administrative and executive team at Alexandria University and the project's executive team at the American University in Cairo.
 
 
 
The meeting began with opening remarks by Dr. Essam Wahba, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Water at Alexandria University, Dr. Essam Shaaban, Director of the Centers of Excellence for Agriculture and Water Project at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Dina El-Gayar, Deputy Executive Director of the Center at Alexandria University, and Dr. Hind Marzouk, Coordinator of Agricultural Activities at the Center at Alexandria University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Bahey El-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Shatby, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Saba Pasha, in addition to a group of professors and faculty members from the Faculties of Agriculture at Alexandria University and representatives from the private agricultural sector in Alexandria Governorate.
During the meeting, the project of the Centers of Excellence for Agriculture and Water and its strategic objectives were introduced, and presentations were given on the various activities provided by the center in the scientific research sector, the exchange, training and scholarships sector, and the educational innovation and curriculum development sector. The door was opened for dialogue and discussions with a group of experts and researchers to exchange experiences and knowledge.

Under the patronage and supervision of Prof. Dr. Walid Elbarki, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, an informative orientation session was successfully held for the 4+1 / 3+2 Dual Degree Program in collaboration with the University of Louisville (USA), with distinguished attendance from academic leaders and a large number of students interested in international study opportunities.

The event featured notable participation from Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Baz, Chair of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville, Prof. Dr. Mustafa ElNainay, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science at Alamein University, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Eltrass, Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.

During the session, attendees were introduced to the program's key features, which offer students the opportunity to earn a dual degree from both universities in various engineering disciplines. The presentation highlighted the program's academic and practical advantages, including internship opportunities and promising career prospects after graduation.

All student inquiries were addressed in detail, covering admission requirements, the academic environment at the University of Louisville, hands-on training options, and pathways to employment both locally and internationally.

The session reflected a high level of engagement and enthusiasm from students and reaffirmed the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to providing outstanding international academic programs that broaden students' global horizons and equip them with skills aligned with the needs of the modern job market.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated students Habiba Hassan Zahdi and Shahd Mohamed Abdel Moneim Kashti from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science on winning a one-year scholarship at the University of Chicago, wishing them success.
 
 
Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that the faculty's continued success in winning these scholarships is a result of Alexandria University's efforts and commitment to academic and research cooperation with international universities. It is a strong testament to the high academic standard and dedicated efforts of the faculty and its faculty members to graduate highly qualified graduates capable of competing globally, and evidence of the quality of education and the stimulating environment the faculty provides for students. He also thanked Dr. Noha Nagi, Lecturer of Economics and Head of International Cooperation at the Faculty, for her efforts in preparing and qualifying students applying for the scholarship, which is fully funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and is a competition for students from many Egyptian universities.
