The 12th Festival of Performing Arts at Alexandria University concludes its work and honors the winning students
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the closing ceremony of distributing individual awards and distinction awards for the 12th Festival of Performing Arts was held, organized by the Technical Committee of the Alexandria University Students Union in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, in the presence of the deans of the faculties and the vice deans of the university faculties for education and student affairs.
The awards were distributed by Dr. Muhammad Bahi El-Din, Dean of the College of Agriculture, on behalf of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. During the festival, 17 theatrical performances were held in the theaters of the Freedom Center for Creativity, the Anfushi Culture Palace Theater, and the University Theatre, under the supervision of the jury consisting of Dr. Manal Fouda, Professor of Acting and Directing and Head of the Theater Department at the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sedika Lashin, Professor of Acting at the Theater Department at the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Dalia Fouad, Lecturer of Decoration at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
The jury announced that the show “Ras Al Ghoul” for the Faculty of Pharmacy won the first place, and the show “Saint-Malo” for the Faculty of Engineering won the second place, and the show “Captain Yahya Al-Nashed Team” faculty of arts won the third place, and the student Ahmed Abdel Rahim - Faculty of Pharmacy won the best director award, and the student Ahmed Ashraf - Faculty of Pharmacy won the award for best actor in a first role, student Elizabeth Naim - Faculty of Engineering won the award for best actress in a first role, student Abdul Rahman Adel - Faculty of Engineering won the award for best actor in a second role, and student Farah Nader - Faculty of Fine Arts won the award for best actress in a second role. And the student Ahmed Helmy - the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best decoration award, and the student Mohamed Salah - the Faculty of Education won the best choreographic award, and the student Ahmed Tariq from the Faculty of Law won the best lighting award, and the student Ahmed Helmy - the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best clothes award, and the student Mohamed Ibrahim - the Faculty of Education won the best music award, The student Nada Haridi from the Faculty of Pharmacy won the best makeup award.
















Alexandria Engineering Students Enrolled at the Louisville University, USA, Achieve First Places in Graduation Projects Competition
Students from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, who are enrolled at the American University of Louisville as part of the (2+2) joint degree program, obtained advanced positions in the graduation projects competition. They are Sarah Ihab - Department of Biomedical Engineering, who obtained first place, and Samuel Ibrahim, Youssef Bekhit, and Omar Salem, who obtained third place in the same competition.
It is worth noting that the agreement signed between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville allows students of the Faculty of Engineering to be accepted into the dual degree program with the American University of Louisville, majoring either in “Biological Engineering” or “Computer Science and Engineering,” under which the student obtains a double academic degree, as they obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and another bachelor’s degree from Alexandria University. Under this agreement, the students will study the first two years at their current university and the following two years at the University of Louisville.
Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science Research Team Wins Second Place in Preparing Public Policy Papers Competition
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science at Alexandria University, for winning the second place in the research competition organized by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Government, for preparing public policy papers under the title “We Think for Our Country." Participants included 43 research teams from various Egyptian universities.

The winning team of the Faculty’s Department of Economics included Dr. Abdelhalim Shaheen, Mr. Abdelkhalek Mohamed, Mr. Ahmed Magdy, Ms. Alaa El-Shazly, and Ms. Marwa Harb. Their research paper under the title: “Blue Economy Exports are an Engine for Growth: One of the Gains of the Flexible Exchange Rate Policy,” addressed five main axes about what the Blue Economy is, discussed the status of the Blue Economy in Egypt, and analyzed SWOT of Egypt’s exports from the Blue Economy, citing pioneering experiences in this field, and an executive plan to enhance Egypt’s exports from the blue economy. The paper concluded with important recommendations regarding enhancing the capacity of marine wealth exports, port and logistics services exports, and beach tourism services exports.
The award winners were announced at a ceremony organized by the Information and Decision Support Center on Monday the 18th of December 2023.
Faculty of Agriculture Holds 5th Student Conference Entitled "Agriculture and Youth Creativity"
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, inaugurated the activities of the fifth student conference organized by the Faculty of Agriculture under the title "Agriculture and Youth Creativity" in the presence of the university's vice presidents, current and former deans and vice-deans of the faculty and university, in addition to faculty staff members and students.

In his speech, Dr. Wael Nabil pointed out the importance of holding such student conferences periodically, as the university believes that they are the real arms for building the Egyptian state, and believes in the importance of their participation in national issues, and knowing their vision on various issues related to their fields of specialization, urging them to pursue organized teamwork. He added that student activity is considered an essential part of university life, and he stressed that the university is always working to support student activities in its various faculties. Dr. Nabil opened an exhibition of students' artworks that included handicrafts, photography, drawing and small productive projects.

Dr. Mohamed Bahie El-Din, Dean of the Faculty and President of the Conference, indicated that the conference is being held for the fifth time and its activities will continue for two days. He explained that the conference program includes two main lectures and about 75 researches and pioneering youth experiments for faculty students, and the launch of a student initiative under the title "Be Green", in addition to sports and cultural activities, an art exhibition, and scouts activities.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mahdi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and the conference rapporteur, emphasized the importance of student conferences and their role in developing youth skills and creativity, indicating that the research topics were chosen carefully and meticulously, as their titles represent vital topics on the scene such as artificial intelligence and its role in agriculture and major development projects adopted by the state, and the obstacles to animal and poultry production and the proposed solutions to them. He pointed out that youth are the leading power for development, as they represent the future, and our role is being a driving force to support them.
Faculty of Nursing organizes its symposium on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the glorious October Victory
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, Faculty of Nursing, in cooperation with the Ahl al-Tawfiq Charity Association, organized an educational symposium on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the glorious October victory, in which Major General Staff Mahmoud Salem, one of the heroes of the October War, and Major General Hashem Abu al-Fadl, one of the heroes of defense, participated. Air Force and the October War, in the College’s Blue Hall.
The celebration included reciting poetry, speeches, and memories from the heroes of the October War.

In her speech, Dr. Nefertiti Zaki, Dean of the College, affirmed her pride in this occasion in which we remember the greatest epic in our modern history, which is the October Victory. She congratulated the military leaders and the valiant armed forces on this great occasion.
While Dr. Hanan El-Sherbiny confirmed that Egypt’s wealth in the October War was the human wealth that created the miracle of the crossing, stressing that we are now facing the second crossing towards building the new republic, and that we must be inspired by the spirit of October, which is considered a dream, and the October dream is a dream of pride, victory and dignity.
Participating in the celebration were Dr. Muhammad Farid, Head of the Doctors Syndicate, Dr. Ibrahim El-Gamal, Director of the Fatwa House in Alexandria, Mrs. Safaa Tawfiq, Director of the Ahl al-Tawfiq Association, and Dr. Hani Morris, Director of Caritas, and a number of representatives of scientific, health, trade union and media bodies and institutions, and a group of faculty members, college workers and students.
