
Dr. Ashraf El-Ghandour, Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, attended a workshop on the ethics of scientific research, in order to discuss the rules and work system of the scientific committees in the fourteenth session, as the rules stipulated the necessity of conducting ethical review on research conducted on animals, patients or healthy volunteers, and obtaining an official ethical approval certificate from accredited committees in academic institutions. The workshop was attended by the main ethics committees and the sub-ethics committees at Alexandria University.

In his speech, El-Ghandour stressed the importance of the Scientific Research Ethics Committee work, pointing to the need to take into account ethical considerations in scientific research. He praised the role played by the Higher Committee for Scientific Research Ethics at Alexandria University in serving scientific research and researchers in the various faculties of the university. He explained that the university administration seeks to achieve accuracy for practical research conducted on animals, patients, or healthy volunteers, as well as scientific research in various departments that are published in international scientific research journals. El-Ghandour emphasized the necessity of obtaining an official ethical approval certificate, whether for conducting research, or for experiments conducted on animals, patients, or healthy volunteers. At the end of the workshop, discussion was opened and questions and inquiries were raised.
