Course Study rules :

 

1-Faculty Board determines the minimum number of students required to open courses.

 

2- Student can delete / add any course before the end of the second week from the semester start day (autumn - spring) or the end of the first week of summer semester after filling out deleting and adding form, and approving it by the academic advisor. The deleted courses don't appear in student's transcript.

 

3- Student is allowed to withdraw from the course before the end of the twelfth week from the start day of spring and autumn semester or sixth week of summer semester after filling out withdrawal form and approving it by academic advisor. In this case, course's hours will not be counted and a grade of "W" (Withdrawal) will be marked for the student in his transcript.

 

4- Student is not allowed to enter the final exam unless he has attended at least 75% of the study hours of the course. If his absence exceeded 25% of the total number of study hours of the course the student will be notified that he is prohibited to entre the final exam and a grade of "FW" (forced Withdrawal) will be marked for the student in his transcript.

 

5- Student gets a grade of "I" (Incomplete) If he is unable to enter the final exam of a course or complete some requirements for imperative reasons accepted by the department and approved by Graduate Studies Committee and Faculty / Institute Board provided that he has attended and perform at least 75% of the requirements for the course and he has to perform the exam within two weeks from start of next semester otherwise he will get a grade "FW".

 

6-  Courses where the student gets a grade of (I, W, FW or MW) are not counted for him and are not included in the calculation of cumulative grades Point average.

 

7-  Student can re-register at any course has already passed or failed for the purpose of improving his grade in this course.

 

8- All the student's grades obtained in courses are marked in his transcript and all of them are included in the calculation of the cumulative average of grades in all classes   (CGPA).

 

9- Student can register in courses from outside the department or Faculty / institute or university as part of the study program and after approval of the Faculty / Institute Board on the proposal of the concerned Department Board and these courses are included in the calculation of cumulative grades average (GPA).

 

10- If Student gets a grade less than C, this course will not be calculated within hours required to obtain the degree and he must re-study the course if it is mandatory or study alternative course if it was elective and obtained points in his attempts in all classrooms enter in calculating the cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

 

11-  If the student was stroked off the program he is not allowed to register for the same program again in the same specialty.

 

12-  The course student had studied and more than five years passed from the date of passing the course till getting to get diploma or master's degree or seven years until getting doctorate.

 

13-  Calculating the cumulative grades point average:

 

A - Course grade points = number of credit hours of the course   x course points.

 

B-  Cumulative grade points average CGPA in each semester (to the nearest three decimal numbers)

 

14-  A student can register in a course as a listener without exam. In case of attending 75% or more of study hours for the course, a grade L (listener) is marked for the student.

 

15-  Students are not allowed to register for a course if he has a prerequisite and he must pass the prerequisite first.

 

16-  Student is allowed to withdraw from the course after registration if he was called to perform military service and a grade withdrawn for military service MW in his transcript and this period is not counted within the validity period of the courses.

A grade IP (In Progress) is marked ​ ​in the transcript as he proceed in thesis research of a master's or doctorate, and the result of the thesis discussion with a grade  S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory  )and not included in the calculation of the grade point average (GPA
