The President of Alexandria University Dr. Essam El Kurdi declared that Alexandria University occupied the 12^th place within QS University Ranking: Arab Region 2018.

Dr. Kurdi stated that the university ranking was upgraded 3 places than the last year, as the university moved from the 15^th in 2017 to 12^th place 2018. He added the Alexandria University came 7^th within the Arab universities according to surveying employers' opinions regarding the quality of graduates.

Dr. Kurdi emphasized that this progress is an indication on the success of university strategy to enhance the scientific research as one of the prerequisites for world rankings, in addition to encouraging international publishing. He also declared that the university ranking was 745 within the best 1200 universities in the world according to US-News Ranking.
